GOD EMPLOYED
God Employed (jamaPro) was birthed out of the desire to reclaim, revive, and redeem the marketplace for God. This ministry is focused on seeking God’s heart in all areas of our “working” life and equipping professionals to take spiritual ownership over their vocations and to be agents of change for Christ in their respective fields, including the arts, media, business, law, medicine, education, etc.
God Employed seeks to impart Christian professionals a vision for making their workplace a place where they encounter God in real time and impact the world through their work. Most of the biblical heroes of the old testament were not full-time ministers, but workplace people like you. Abraham was a businessman; David a general and a CEO; Daniel a politician, etc. They all encountered God in their workplace and impacted the world through their work.
Your work matters to God.
We hope you will partner with God Employed, and that together with many other men and women of God, we can reclaim, revive, and redeem the workplace for His kingdom. Join marvelous comrades who are excited about pursuing life-changing ministry in the midst of building careers—because we desire to dedicate our jobs to God.
We are missionaries on a 9-to-5 missions field from the first day hired to the day we retire.
Our motives are clear—we desire to own the marketplace for Christ. However, our methods are transparent and noble—our main weapon is prayer. Combined with the Great Commission and God’s grace, we believe we will be like a city on a hill—light-bearers in a dark marketplace.
Ownership. Intercession. Leadership.
We are a division of Jama Global (www.jamaglobal.com). JAMA stands for Jesus Awakening Movement for America/All Nations. It is a prayer and spiritual awakening movement based on 2 Chronicles 7:14 and birthed by the prayers of a handful of Korean-Americans who were burdened for America’s revival. Its mission is to bring Christians together in brokenness and prayer, awakening them to the horror of sin, the holiness of God, the backsliding of the Church, the centrality of the Word, the beauty of His grace, and the joy of a Christ-saturated life.
By repenting of our own and our nation’s sins (Nehemiah 1:6), JAMA is a movement praying that God would send His sovereign wind and release His revival and healing throughout this land, so that our lives, families, churches, communities, cities, America, and the world can be reclaimed for Christ.
One of the ministries that serve this movement is God Employed.
GodEmployed’s Founding Statement:
GodEmployed was birthed out of the desire to reclaim, revive, and redeem the marketplace for God. This ministry is focused on seeking God’s heart in all areas of our “working” life and equipping professionals to take spiritual ownership over their vocations and to be agents of change for Christ in their respective fields.
Core Principles:
(O)wnership
Abraham Kuyper (Dutch Prime Minister, 1901-1905) asserted, “There is not a square inch of the world over which Christ does not claim, ‘Mine.’” This must be equally true with our workplaces! Consider a few biblical giants of faith: Abraham, a businessman; Joseph, a prime minister; David, a king; Daniel, an administrator; and Esther, a queen. All were professionals who made an impact through the workplace. We strive to connect Christians across marketplaces so that they can be empowered with the vision that God owns the marketplace.
(I)ntercession
Without prayer, the movement is nothing. Prayer is the basic building block of winning the marketplace for Christ. Being part of a fellowship/prayer circle for support with others at the workplace builds strength, courage, inspiration, and tactical know-how to bring Christ into the marketplace. It also invites the Holy Spirit into the workplace actively and empowers every core activity of GodEmployed.
(L)eadership
As Christians, we are called to be leaders and influencers in our workplaces, empowering other Christians and helping those who are lost. This includes being excellent in our workplaces and earning leadership roles, but it also includes shepherding other Christians with OIL qualities so that they can build up the active body of Christ at work.
